How to meet the challenges to evaluate functional safety

Lane Departure Warning systems (LDW), Lane Keeping
Assistant systems (LKA) and Lane Support Systems (LSS) are active safety systems and integrated in each modern vehicle to warn the driver if the vehicle begins to move out of its lane.
The introduction of these systems has reduced the number of accidents significantly.
The development of these systems and their functional safety evaluation is a very complex process as multiple different parameters need to be acquired time synchronously, analyzed and evaluated.
A data acquisition system that meets the requirements of such tests and solves the challenges test engineers encounter is presented in the following discourse.
