You often hear that synchronization is important when a measurement campaign consists of more than one data acquisition system. But why?
Because each system has an individual timing error in the ppm range. When starting a long time recording, there will be a time drift between two devices with different timing errors. Synchronization is an easy way to avoid this problem.
