What can the TRION3-1850-MULTI strain gauge amplifier, 18 bit 5 Ms/s, contribute to these measurements?

Most of the mechanical stress measurements are done with quarter bridge gauges. So one active gauge is used to determine the stress situation at a particular point or part of the mechanical structure. Caused by the small resistance change of the strain gauge, the gauge is used in a Wheatstone Bridge circuit, completed to a full bridge.

This completion is already provided from the strain gauge amplifier itself. Depending on the gauge, 120R or 350R, R3 must be provided internally from the amplifier.

There are also gauges available with 1000R, where the amplifier must provide an internal completion of 1000R, or it must be done externally with an additional high accurate, low temperature drift 1000R resistor. The TRION3-1850-MULTI amplifier already provides the 1000R bridge completion internally.
The next question raised is how a quarter bridge is connected to the amplifier. Most amplifiers provide 2Wire, 3Wire or 4Wire connection. Up front, TRION3-1850-MULTI is providing all of them!
